This is what happens when I read too much of TVTropes. I clicked on their Papa Wolf trope, and... this ensued. Also because

vertiline_rpg posted their own trope page, and Ironhide fell under the Papa Wolf category. ~~So did TFA Ratchet, MoviePrime, Booth from Bones and someone from straya 's Rex show. Go figure.~~

So I wrote more headcanon.

( There's a reason Ironhide trains new recruits... )
